A Creator's Gaming Phone - ROG Phone 8 Pro & Tessen Android Controller (ASMR Unboxing)

In relation to a person, a phone is an accessory. And as an accessory, one of the things it should be aside from being useful is that it looks good. The ROG Phone 8 Pro, with its smaller profile and sleeker, more understated design, finally satisfies that criterion. Suffice it to say, I got more excited than I had ever been in unboxing a gaming phone.

But design isn't the only thing it's got going. For this unboxing, ASUS specifically requested to have the unboxing be shot using the phone, confident that its new and much-improved camera system will deliver this time. I was so impressed by the boldness of the idea that I heartily accepted the challenge haha!

So, did it deliver? Having watched the unboxing video, you, the audience, be the judge. But the decision to improve the cameras and then ask that I shoot an unboxing with them means ASUS is now starting to take this aspect of the gaming phone more seriously, and it got me thinking.

ROG Phones have already conquered mobile gaming, so what else should it set its eye on now?

For me, starting with the 8 Pro, the next big conquest of ROG Phones beyond gaming should be content creation, and I see ASUS leveraging the 8 Pro's strengths as a gaming phone in gearing up to become a creator's phone as well. What with the big batteries, the latest and greatest chip, a robust cooling system, a mappable AirTrigger (which you can use as a camera shutter), and thrice as many ports as most flagship phones, I say it's time to start positioning ROG Phones in that direction.

It goes without saying that, in my opinion, the 8 Pro is the best ROG Phone ASUS has ever built, and I hope that it signals ASUS' intent for ROG Phones to conquer content creation next.
